Ready To Join The Brotherhood?

Being touted as not a sequel but rather an additional tale to the popular Assassin's Creed II, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, has released this nice piece of artwork today. This new game from Ubisoft is said to include a 15 hour long single player adventure as well as including multiplayer gameplay.

I must admit I am more than a little curious to see how the multiplayer will work but I believe my biggest choice in this game shall be whether to choose the Executioner or the Plague Doctor as my digital avatar. I'm generally not very good about being a sneak around type of player a fact that the legion of dead WWII digital soldiers could attest to since I sometime lack the patience to find cover, but the Plague Doctor looks very much like a character I would role-play in a pen and paper game.

Saturday Supercade!

Incredibly busy time here at the Victory Pellet Vault so I can only make one post for the Saturday Supercade. At some point in my life I will have to travel to Japan and just clear out most of their stock of Super Mario Bros. products. Look at all that stuff!

I know nothing about this 1982 arcade game from Bally/Midway. I have to say though I think the arcade cabinet is pretty incredible with its oversized dominos surrounding the coin slot, and this game shows some pretty nifty thinking on design on the game as well as these screenshots show.

Well, another year has come and gone and on this date I must take a small respite blogging about the amazing bits of gaming lore new and old that is fit to type up and direct the point of this post to the birthday celebration of a dear friend.

Much like Mr. JPW who frequents this site, Dax, is one of the only friends that if one day he were to pick up the phone and request of me to stand back to back against a horde of Rakshasa...I would do so without a moment's hesitation.

Box Art Wednesday.

In 1989 I was pretty sure the Atari Lynx was going to be handheld electronic game of choice for the free world...apparently a little item called the Gameboy proved me quite wrong. Now I ended up getting the Gameboy myself and that mainly due to the pricing of the system though the Lynx tried to combat that later on in its run but it was too little too late.

However even though the system failed to find it's audience and more importantly third party developers for their games...it sure has some nice looking box art for the titles that did come out.
