Saturday Supercade!

All manner of awesome artwork this Saturday Supercade! From the WWII inspired propaganda posters, I particularly enjoy the Dig-Dug one, to a Pac-Man chair and Super Mario Bros. table showing 4 stages of the classsic NES game!

Everyone have a great weekend and I'll see you on Monday.

Saturday Supercade!

I figured you all were due a break from my Tron and Lego madness...it seems that another type of madness has overcome me these last few weeks. Movie Madness! You'll need to hop over to the Retroist site to see what I am talking about. http://www.retroist.com/

Now since it is the month of haunts and haints what could be better than pieces of artwork that deal with the supernatural and those that hunt them. The third pic has nothing to do with that...I just though loyal reader, Vinvectrex, might get a kick out of this hat he can order off of CafePress.

Have a great weekend everyone and see you on Monday!

Saturday Supercade!

Sorry, but there is only the one post today. The Victory Pellet Vault has been busy beyond belief the last few days. It seems that Radium Chimp #34 contracted some type of strange flu during his brief journey to the Moon and spread it to me...which is of course when the electrical systems start to fail and my hands are just full with keeping my prisoners-ahem, I mean guests from leaving their cells. I mean suites.

Thanks to Kotaku for the heads up on this photo snapped by Meeko from the South Coast Plaza Mall in Costa Mesa, California. It seems the mall made this display to celebrate Pac-Man's 30th anniversary. Wow, that makes me feel old.

Everyone have a great weekend and assuming I can crawl out of bed come Monday I will see you all then. If you get some spare time though make sure to jump over to:

http://games.retroist.com/

They were kind enough to post my review of the Spider-Man Atari 2600. While you are there make sure to check out all the other great reviews and hop over to the main site, the Retroist just put up a podcast about the classic Adventures of Superman television show!

It Must Be Thursday.

This is how I roll!
Sorry, I cannot believe I just typed that...but to be fair I think I am coming down with something because curling up in bed and calling it a day sounds like just the thing for me. Still, while I actually kind of like these Pac-Man tires, I'm sure the wife would hit me over the head with a frying pan if I bought them.

Some More Saturday Supercade!

Look we all need some new tennis shoes sometimes...I just happen to need coverings for my feet that have Pac-Man ghosts on them.

Still Saturday Supercade!

Now that is a cake that I can only hope to get for my next birthday.
A big thanks to Scooter Kitty's blog where I believe this picture was taken at an all 1980's party. We here at the Victory Pellet Vault salute you!

It Must Be Thursday...Vacation Style.

Well, dear readers. I'm afraid that I had to finally ditch my Pac-Man costume last night...the smell of it alone was able to fully stop a Grue from 30 feet away. So today I decided to pull out another disguise, this one will at least let me get some air even though I smell suspiciously like a public pool. Strange.

Now How Am I Getting Home?

Vacation is almost up and now I've been spotted in the middle of a mad dash for BBQ, I mean I know Penguin Ed's has some of the best barbecue around but there is no call for everyone to take to the streets as soon as they open the doors! Everyone remain calm, there is enough ribs for everyone, I promise.

Still On Vacation...Still Pac-Man Style!

Whew. That was a close one. The fuzz almost had me as I was turning the corner but luckily I always keep an extra Pac-Man costume stashed in the bushes for just such occasions. See, the police are looking for a fuzzy Pac-Man not a sleek posterboard Pac-Man. Well, that's either police sirens or the ghosts are closing in on me...see you all tomorrow!

On Vaction...Pac-Man Style!

That's right, dear readers! I've left the Victory Pellet Vault location and am as I type this wandering through your backyards and sitting on your porches while you are not at home. I'm pretty easy to find though...I mean I am wearing this giant life-size Pac-Man costume. If you happen to see me in your backyard tonight do me a favor and hand me a cup of tea before you call the cops...this suit is hot, whew!

It Must Be Thursday.

Last week for Pac-Man's big celebration they apparently had to have willing sacrifices to the big guy...yikes, and I thought I was the one of the biggest Pac-Man fanatics out there.

Saturday Supercade!

If you have a Saturday morning where you can find some excellent art of Lego Pac-Man/Super Mario Bros, homemade Tron suits, a Mega Man profile shot, Tron inspired V.I.N.C.E.N.T. from the Black Hole, and a real life Super Mario Bros. Level...you can call it a day and sit back and relax.

Lego Meet Pac-Man.

Yes, you are looking at an arcade cabinet for Pac-Man made entirely of Legos. The genius behind this work of art is one Ben Fleskes and he didn't alter any of the Lego pieces in the construction of his cabinet. The emulator that he has installed in his cabinet is the same offerings that I've talked about here before at my local Red Robin. We here at the Victory Pellet Vault salute you, Ben!

A big thanks to Kotaku for the pics and heads up.

Saturday Supercade!

Yes, that is indeed a Q*bert teapot which makes it possibly the most awesome teapot ever created...if you could actually drink out of it that is. The very talented Phil Theobald over at 1-up.com created the items you see above though he admits they are for decorative purposes only. Still, these are awesome creations indeed and we at the Victory Pellet Vault salute you for your wonderful creations!

Some more Saturday Supercade!

Sticking with Pac-Man as we round out this Saturday Supercade...at least a Pac-Man like mural.

Still Saturday still Supercade!

How cool is that? Blinky, Inky, and Clyde done up on the wall all with Rubik's Cubes?

Saturday Supercade!

Pac-Man as "a foolish Samurai warrior" in this awesome piece of art from Jared Moraitis!

Thanks to Kotaku for the heads up.

Some More Saturday Supercade!

I think Fleer stole some of Buckner and Garcia's lyrics for Pac-Man Fever as I look at these two sticker sets. Don't you wish though, back in the day, that either we had elected Pac-Man for President or had a U.S. Pac-Man Team?

Saturday Supercade!

My grandmother's closet door still has a ton of these Fleer Pac-Mac stickers on it...if we ever sell that house I'll have to take the door with me. I'm sure it must have brought her great embarrassment when she had company over, "This door is my grandson's...shrine to video games...and Star Wars...and Garbage Pail Kids...and Gremlins..."

So are you still celebrating National Pac-Man day?

Thanks to Dcbowe for this wonderful holiday picture of old, look at that...handheld Pac-Man on the table next to E.T., what looks to be a Pac-Man blanket folded up next to an empty plate of what might have been Santa's cookies. Family member celebrating National Pac-Man day on the Atari 5200...which is one of the only game systems I never owned. Had a friend next door who did and the differences in graphics were night and day.
Keep on celebrating!
