Nintendo Units Worthy Of The TriForce!

A big thanks to Kotomiblog and Videogameblogger for the above photos of these Legend of Zelda inspired NES mods. A worthy tribute to the 25th B-Day of the system! I'm not sure about the rest of you readers but I wouldn't mind having one of these beauties on my gaming shelf.

Happy B-day to the NES!

Feel that something special in the air? Why that would be millions of excited gamers across the globe as they rise wearily from their beds to discover that the Nintendo Entertainment System has turned 25 years old!

Super Mario Bros., Excitebike, Kid Icarus, Duck Hunt, Metroid, and Legend of Zelda to name only a few of the early titles that I burned hundreds of hours playing in my youth. Good memories.

Of course how does one celebrate a day like this? Well, you can do what I'm going to do and play some M.U.L.E. but I personally think that should be done everyday. I guess I'll just have to browse this crazy series of tubes to find suitable photos worthy of the 25th birthday celebration of a classic gaming system.

A big thanks to Kotaku for the heads up and to Smithore.com which is just an incredibly awesome site about M.U.L.E. so make sure to head over there and give them a look!

Pardon me but I need more tea and I should see if the Vault has anymore of the Nintendo cereal in stock.

A place to store your Rupees.

So there I was...my Buzz Lightyear wallet had finally given out on me...I had to go and purchase a new one. I hate shopping for clothes almost as much as I despise wallet browsing. Why? Because the world tries to force you to purchase one of the leather versions. Forget that nonsense. I carried my Super Mario Bros. wallet for 15 years and when it gave out I picked up the Buzz Lightyear version and it lasted over ten years.

Luckily my wife dropped by our local Hasting's on the way home and found the above wallet. The only way I could have been happier was if I had found some green rupees in the thing!

It's a secret to everybody.

Well, some really awesome Farmville fan on Facebook has gone and made a hay tribute to Link from the NES version of the Legend of Zelda. The only question that pops into my head is whether I am going to copy this player.

I think that will be a yes.

By the way, we at the Victory Vault received almost a foot of snow on Saturday night...Shoveling a path to the street is a young man's job. I swear that if a young person of any gender had offered to handle that snow for me I would have given them the video game system of their choice in payment. Alas this was not to be and I have the back pain to prove it.

Thanks to Joystiq for the picture up above.
