So many cities to destroy and so little time.

Epyx released this little beauty of a game in 1986 for the Commodore 64 and the Apple II. Choosing from six movie monsters, Godzilla, The Glog (the blob), Mechatron, Spectra (a giant wasp), Tarantus, and finally Mr. Meringue (Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man) you would then choose your location and what type of game to play as your monster. Escape of course being a scenario where you had to get out of the city alive, or landmark where the goal was to destroy famous tourist attractions for a particular city, etc.
I remember one of the neater features for the game was after selecting your monster, location, and scenario you would enter the movie theatre and watch a few advertisements before the movie began, which would include a long crawl explaining the situation your monster was in.

Yep. Mr. Meringue. He would also spit up a wad of meringue on the various soldiers, tanks, planes, etc. It would slow them down enough for you to walk on 'em and squish 'em good.
